Cute clothes, I shop the sales alot and they are always friendly at the belden village store!
I went to The Childrens Place in belden village mall to purchase some items for my one month old. When i came inside the store i inquired on where the newborn clothes were , the associate had let me know that they were in the back. As i was looking for stuff for my daughter a co worker came back to where i was and asked did i need any help with anything, i told her no and continued to shop. As i continued to shop and walk around the associate would follow me where ever i went and watch me so i just hurried and purchased everything due to it making it so obvious to think i was stealing. I made my purchase and as i was walking out i noticed security waiting for me at the door. After speaking with my mom on the phone letting her know what happened i just decided to return the items. The cashier and i had a few words and she told me i would not be able to return my items. I let her know that i was being followed in the store and it was another woman also in the store as well that had not been followed. The associate informed me that people with "big bags" came in and stole all the time. So it was assumed that because i had a big bag and the color of my skin that i was stealing. For my first time being there it was a horrible experience i was embarrassed and upset. i wasnt trying nor have i ever stole in my life. Neither of the associates bothered to apologize and as i was leaving the woman that followed me was laughing. While sharing the story with an associate of mine she also described the woman that had followed me and let me know she had did the same to her and described her as being racist.
