Amy's office is fantastic. I originally was referred by Eva Findlay, one of the listing agents, and then put in touch with Molly Wirick. Molly has been amazing. So patient and attentive. Keeping us informed about everything. Not that I want to move again but will definately be using them again if I need to and will refer them to everyone.
We bought a house unfortunately while this company had it listed. We used our own realtor and the listing realtor did not want to help him at all. We asked numerous times for utilities and got nothing from them. We ended up making an offer on the house and bought it. Not because of Remax but because we knew it was a great house. In fact, if I would have known how bad of a first house buying experience she would have made it for us, we would have never even looked at it. The owners wanted earnest money of $500 and they wanted it by the next day. They called three days later wanting to know where the earnest money was and we told them it was where they wanted it at and their reply was, “Thanks, we haven’t been into the office for a few days.” House was listed in Strasburg and had to run to Canton to do all of the paperwork. We then had to make a special trip up to Canton again because the title agency that she used only does this part time and messed up all of the paperwork. They expected me and my wife to leave work to come and sign again. I’m glad that they might be able to just come and go from work as they please but that’s not how it works for normal working people. I was willing to let this all go and not blast them online but what we ran into next put us over the edge. The house was listed, on ReMax Crossroads page as having a wood burning fireplace and a wood burner for auxiliary heating source. Being the first time home buyers that we were, we just did the FHA home inspection and did not have a second inspection. That ended up being a big mistake. We bought this house in the summer, mind you. With winter approaching we wanted to get the fireplace and wood burner checked out before we used them. THANK GOD we did not use them first. The people that came out said that the fireplace is not a wood butning fireplace and can not be used, it could burn the house down because their is no exhaust for it. As for that wood burner, also can not be used without the chance of also burning down the house. After calling multiple home inspectors, they would not have even checked fireplaces for if they worked as they are an auxiliary heat source. So this all comes down to the fact that this realtor had it listed as having wood burning fireplace and wood burners and neither can be used. After contacting the listing agent, they blew it off, which we knew they would. It all comes down to false advertisement and that’s why I will be taking Amy Wengerd Group to court. Buyers beware of how this place does business. This place really does give realtors a bad name. Thank you so much to you guys for making a part of our life that is supposed to be fun and exciting, into the worst buying experience that we have ever been involved with. See you soon...
