I arrived and was 3rd in line. In a matter of minutes, my question was answered and I was on the road again.
While supervisors have helped me multiple times to fix the multiple errors with my case, I must say it's a real headache to have to rely on Job and Family Services. If you ask me, the denials of benefits and not issuing checks is done on purpose at times. Also, not informing me and other clients about ALL they need to complete to stay in compliance seems to happen too much. I really can't believe and won't believe this is all due to "mistakes". This is a cold-hearted country and world anymore. The "mistakes" with clients' benefits aren't mistakes when they see clients doing what they are supposed to do to earn their benefits but STILL won't issue them or try to deny them. This is simply punishment to low income and indigent citizens. And I really believe this happens in a A LOT more counties than Stark County Ohio.
Don't even bother calling you will be on hold for at least 2 hours. They also give you horrible due dates on your paper work and they don't give you a fax number so when you get paperwork you have to have it in the mail that same day and I happen to be getting everything on Saturdays for some reason.
It can get busy at times so I recommend coming early in the morning. You must walk through the metal detector upon entry. Their clerks are very knowledgeable and efficient. You will definitely get an answer to whatever questions you have, while you are here. They have a family restroom as well as singles and a small play area, plus a tv for the kids.
They kept telling my homeless daughter and 2 year old child were ineligible. Never let her know about the hardship program she found out in the streets. For one why are they ineligible. For another if you're in a homeless shelter they're homeless.... bitches . Where does the community go for help during hard times. Not job and family services that's for damn sure
