I have been going to A-1 Books since the 1980s if not before. My children and many of my grand children also have gone there. It is filled with books from top to bottom and it's always enjoyable going there. When I can't find what I'm looking for, I ask Ruth to find it for me and in a few weeks, I get a call that it's there waiting on me.
Great treasure hunting
One of the best selections if you want to dig around in an endless pile of old books. Always sure to find a gem in there.
Interesting but somewhat scarey
The selection in this place is great if you're willing to dig. Books are all in piles or shoved onto shelves in a haphazard way. This was not a cleanly store at all and a layer of dust/grime coated every book. If the grime is worth it for the deals then go ahead but I wouldn't want to handle those books
Many of my grandson's first and second edition comic books came from A-1 as well as many of the books I have. It's a wonderful place to visit. If you're a book lover, I know you'[ll enjoy the trip.
